How do Dr. Jackson and Dr. Graham keep up to date on all of the current techniques and materials?Dr. Jackson and Dr. Graham are extensively trained, but as dentistry is constantly changing, they do a number of things to stay up-to-date on all of the current findings. The entire team frequently attends continuing education courses at some of the finest dental organizations in the country. Many of these courses focus on new findings in cosmetic and restorative dentistry. Dr. Jackson and Dr. Graham also belong to a variety of organizations that offer seminars and conferences on changes in dentistry. Can you show me what my smile can look like ahead of time with imaging software?Yes. Our office has a digital imaging system. We can take pictures of your teeth with our digital or intra-oral camera and use our imaging system to show you how a particular treatment would enhance the appearance of your teeth. If you have questions about our digital imaging system, Dr. Jackson and Dr. Graham are always happy to demonstrate how it works. Do you accept referrals?Yes. We always welcome new patients to our office. Do you accept my insurance plan?Dr. Jackson and Dr. Graham never want expense to prevent you from selecting the quality of care you desire and need. That's why we strive to maximize your insurance benefits and make any remaining balance easily affordable. We don't participate in any insurance plan, but we understand benefits and will gladly file your insurance claim for you. If you have any questions regarding your insurance benefits, please don't hesitate to call our office at 270-781-2952. We are always happy to discuss insurance and financing with you. What do I do if I have an emergency when the office is closed?If you have an emergency, please call our office number at 270-781-2952 and follow the instructions to contact our on-call doctor. I have a temporary crown in my mouth. What happens if it comes off or breaks?When a temporary crown falls off or breaks, reattach the crown using dental adhesive or toothpaste. Then, call us immediately so we can schedule an appointment to evaluate the damage. My child has had an accident and his/her tooth has been entirely knocked out. What do I do?If your child's tooth is knocked out during office hours and there is no imminent medical emergency, please contact us at 270-781-2952 immediately. There is a chance we can replace the tooth if we see your child within the first hour. When you call, our office staff can advise you on the safest and most appropriate plan of action. What different payment options do you provide?Our fees are based on the high quality materials we use and our extensive experience and care in performing the treatment you need. That's why we accept cash, check, and credit cards such as Master Card, Visa, or American Express. If you have extensive or long-term dental care, our office offers financial assistance through CareCredit, an outside financing company with competitive interest rates. If you have questions before your visit, you can call our office or use the online Ask Dr. Jackson/Dr. Graham form. How can I safely whiten my teeth?Many of our patients ask about whitening their teeth. Since each mouth is unique, we need to evaluate your teeth to recommend a specific method. If your teeth are cracked, chipped, or discolored, Dr. Jackson and Dr. Graham may recommend some of our restorative services, such as veneers or bonding. If you want to bleach your teeth, we use Discus Dental Whitening products in our office. What precautions do you take to ensure patient safety?We offer the highest infection control standards to ensure your safety as our patient. This means we keep up-to-date on the latest sterilization procedures and research. Our office complies and exceeds OSHA standards for safety. Our instruments are thoroughly sterilized in accordance with ADA accepted guidelines. Most importantly, we have a sterilization center where we can maximize efficient sterilization and minimize the chance of contamination through human error. What makes you different than any other dental practice I can visit?We do a variety of things that make us unique. Dr. Jackson and Dr. Graham have trained and studied at several prominent dental organizations. Along with their years of experience, they can offer you high-quality and extraordinary dental care. Secondly, if you're in pain, we offer nitrous oxide and oral conscious sedation, both of which enable us to work while you remain pain-free. Finally, no matter what your treatment is, we are always happy to explain a procedure and provide you with the information you need. Are there any other options?Many people feel uncomfortable when they hear the whirling sound of the drill. Thankfully, changes in dentistry have made the tools Dr. Jackson and Dr. Graham use quieter and more comfortable. If you are jittery about drills, we also offer nitrous and oral conscious sedation, which enables us to work quickly while you experience little to no pain. If you are still concerned about your visit, Dr. Jackson and Dr. Graham are always happy to demonstrate how these tools work. My gums bleed after I brush. Is this something to be concerned about?Yes, you should be very concerned about bleeding gums, especially if you haven't had a check-up in a while. Bleeding gums can be caused by a variety of things, from a leaky filling to gum disease. While it may seem harmless, bleeding gums can cause a variety of serious health problems. If your gums are bleeding, call us as soon as possible to schedule an appointment so we can analyze the cause. I really do not like visiting the dentist. Is there anything you can do to help me relax?We can tell when people are nervous about being in a dentist's office. Nothing seems to help them relax. That's why we try to do our best to work quickly and painlessly. We also have DVD players to keep your mind off of our work. If that's not enough, we offer nitrous oxide to make your visit comfortable. We also offer oral conscious sedation, which lets you take a pill that will put you in a deeply relaxed state while we work. Where can I learn more about these procedures?Dr. Jackson and Dr. Graham usually recommend these procedures as part of a permanent restoration. They are more durable, easy on your mouth, and aesthetic looking. You can learn more about these procedures on our Patient Education section. Dr. Jackson and Dr. Graham strive to keep up on the latest research and findings. You can also use Caesy, the patient education system in our office, to print information on a particular procedure. Do I have to floss every day? Is it really that important?Yes. Brushing cleans about 80% of your teeth while flossing covers the remaining 20%. Although that seems like a small percentage, this area is where all of the big problems originate. That's why Dr. Jackson and Dr. Graham believe cleaning this area is very important. When you come to our office, they can discuss the benefits of flossing and show you how to improve your technique. I brush everyday, but my breath just is not fresh. Is there anything I can do?Our office recommends Crest Pro-Health Rinse; it kills germs, fights plaque, gingivitis, and bad breath. Cleaning the roof of your mouth and your tongue is also important in eliminating odor causing bacteria. I want my front teeth to look better, but I do not want to wear braces. What would you recommend?There are a variety of ways to improve the appearance of your teeth without braces. We may recommend veneers, bonding, or a combination of cosmetic services to straighten your teeth. After listening to your goals and concerns, he can suggest ways to help you straighten your smile. What is Smile Analysis and Smile Design?In a smile analysis, we look at all the factors that compose a smile; these are the shape of a smile, the size, the smile line, and the position of your teeth, lips, and gums when you smile. We listen to what you want to accomplish and any concerns you may have. Once we have this information, we can provide a custom smile design. Using digital imaging software, Dr. Jackson and Dr. Graham will generate an image of your new smile, review the smile design results with you, and discuss the next steps to make it happen. |
